Dear subscriber,
President’s Update
Greetings Fans, Friends, & Heroes!
Welcome to the inaugural edition of Helping Heroes e-newsletter, dedicated to granting wishes for members of our military. Each month, we’ll keep everyone abreast of our wishes granted, future wishes, featured donors, volunteers, and ways to help out.
We recently completed our first quarter as a foundation, and we’ve managed to accomplish a lot in a short period of time. We’ve granted 20 wishes, encompassing all branches of the military, across 9 states at a value of $30,000. We’re not content to stop and celebrate just yet – we have a lot of work to do, and we can’t do it without your help.
Each month, we’ll highlight ways that you can help in our e-newsletter. Some of these involve making donations, and others cost nothing – only a little bit of your time or just helping to spread the word in your daily travels. As a young, grass-roots movement, we need to continue to raise awareness and grow our fan base, so we can reach out and help more heroes each month! This month, you can help us on our march toward 10,000 Facebook fans, or submit an application for a deserving member of the military, who you think is deserving of a spot in Kyle Chandler’s celebrity golf tournament in Austin, TX – this is an all-expenses paid family trip to a resort in Austin for two deserving soldiers and their families. Finally, thank you so much for your support. We welcome any feedback you may have as we strive to make this newsletter more effective each month.

Wishes Granted
Last month, we granted 8 wishes worth approximately $12,000. 100% of all donations made online through our website go directly toward granting wishes. You can specify a particular wish or make a general donation, but either way, 100% of your money will go directly toward helping a military member (or family).

FEATURED WISH
Home Repairs needed for Family of Deployed Marine
This month’s featured wish is for Monica Cripe and her family. Monica, wife of Marine, David Cripe, stationed in Iraq, has been separated from her husband since June, and was pregnant at the time he left. The couple lives in a 132 year-old farmhouse that is in need of several repairs. Plagued with a leaky roof, and drafts through the house, the Cripe’s are in need of a new roof, two new windows, a bathroom floor, and partial fencing for their front yard (to keep her children off a busy road). We have volunteers standing by to start repairs mid-April (when the weather in Indianapolis improves), and we would love more! Call it EXTREME MAKEOVER – HEROES EDITION, we will take all the man-power we can get to help repair the Cripe’s home. If you would like to volunteer, please email:
krs@wish4ourheroes.org
or call (317) 441-9353. We also need donations for supplies, materials, and a portion of the labor. Please help the Cripe’s by donating now:

Volunteer of the Month
As a volunteer organization, we rely on the help of those who have graciously donated their time and talents. Most of our day-to-day operations are conducted by volunteers, and each month we will feature one volunteer who has really stood out among their peers. This month, we would like to thank Christy from Greenwood, IN for coordinating corporate sponsorship efforts. Christy is helping lay the groundwork corporate sponsorships, which will assist in corporate donations, payroll contributions and more. Thank you, Christy, for a job well done!
